Brisbane City council recommends small-business grease traps be cleaned once every 3 months and small shopping centre grease traps from fortnightly to monthly to avoid possible trench damage, breeding of cockroaches, bad odour and risk of breaching Industrial Waste Permit and DEP licence conditions.

Holding tanks collect “grey” water from your bath, laundry and hand basins.  Commercial holding tanks usually don’t filter through to land, so need to be emptied when full.

Many commercial holding tanks are fitted with an alarm to notify you when they need emptying.   Always ensure to call a service agent as soon as possible after the alarm sounds to avoid overflow.
